Seals & Norfolk Broads
This exciting winter photo safari visits the vast Grey Seal colony at Horsey followed in the afternoon by a journey into the Norfolk Broads. What we do in the afternoon will be dependant on opportunities on offer which might include Barn and Short-eared Owls or a visit, to the Yare valley.
Peak pupping time for seals normally occurs in late November into early December. This site is wardened and fenced in places however this has meant the seals have got very used to people just the other side of the fence and so pups are often very close offering outstanding opportunities as they move about the marram studded dunes. Early in the New Year there are fewer pups but often more interaction between adults and a better chance for Barn Owls in the afternoons.
Timing
Meet at 7 am, transport in my vehicle, I can pick up or meet you at a pre-arranged location. Finish at dusk.
Recommended Gear
Ideally equipment that has a telephoto ability of at least 300 mm. We can supplement or supply a full OM System kit for the day if required. Beanbags for photographing from our vehicle are supplied, if you normally use a tripod then please bring that with you.
Level of fitness
We cater for all levels of fitness, However, Horsey requires a walk of 2-3 miles on flat ground.
What's included
Transportation from an agreed pick up and drop off point, normally in Holt or Cley or depending on where you are staying we can pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation or for this tour meet you closer to Horsey and the Broads if you wish to stay in that area or are coming from home just for the day and wish to reduce travel time.. For very early starts we will provide a snack. David will have water, tea and coffee and snacks available during the day. For this photo safari please bring a packed lunch.

Deposit: £50 per person payable at time of booking.
Ways to pay
We accept cheques made payable to David Tipling Photography or payment via bank transfer. The balance will be payable on the day and can be settled via these payment methods or in cash.
